Fall Leaves Engagements
Saturday, December 10th, 2011Salt Lake & Provo Engagement: John & McKaye
Thursday, March 3rd, 2011He waited for the love of his life and he will tell you it was more than worth it. John waited to date McKaye for over a year and he says it was well worth the wait.
McKaye says he is the perfect man for her in more ways than she can describe and can’t believe she waited so long to date him.
These two met in Las Vegas, dated in Utah, got engaged in New York and are both from Texas and they don’t plan to stop traveling anytime soon.
She is an engineer and he is a social worker and they both LOVE music as she being a saxophone player and he a drummer.
I have known these two for over two years and watching their love grow has made me so happy. They are always smiling with each other, and when I say always I’m not exaggerating, seriously! Just watching these two you can tell they both deeply love each other and truly have a special love.
For their engagements we went ALL over. We hit the salt flats, Wheeler Farm, and the “provo castle.” The day was full of laughing and just a ton of fun. (Yes these two are the ones I posted about before and said I hoped they would actually get engaged and 3 months later it happened!)
The salt flats provided an amazing natural white background that John and McKaye constantly played the entire time. But we wanted to add some color to the photo so what better way than multicolored balloons?
Next we went to the Wheeler Farm to get some more vintage looks because they have the BEST fashion style for one, and the other reason is McKaye wants to have a fun vintage feel to her wedding (which I”M SOO EXCITED FOR) so why not start with the engagement photos?
They got engaged around valentine’s day so naturally we had to bring some of that into their photos plus I couldn’t stop looking at her ring. Isn’t is BEAUTIFUL!?
The last location we went to was what is called the “provo castle.” It was my first time shooting here and trust me it won’t be the last the light was breathtaking!
I’m so excited for their wedding and starting their lives together. They will be getting married in May in Texas. And trust me this won’t be the last post about them. They have become such dear friends over the years and they will stay that way for many more to come.
John & McKaye Sneak Peek
Tuesday, February 1st, 2011If you follow my blog regularly, you probably recognize these two from a “mock” engagement session I did. These two were the best models. And I said in that post that I had a feeling they will get married one day. I was right! They are officially engaged! I will tell you their story when I post all the photos. But here is a sneak peek for you guys and her mother who is all the way in Texas.
Here is her engagement ring… Isn’t it GORGEOUS!?
Wedding Advice from the Knot and Hill City Bride on Wedding Photography
Tuesday, November 9th, 2010This week seems to be Wedding Photo Week on all the wedding blogs out there. I’ve seen so many posts about how to choose a wedding photographer, what type of photos you much get, the importance of paying a professional for memories that will last a lifetime, etc. This has made me more than excited about the wedding planning process. And I want to share with my brides two of my favorite posts I found this week to make things just a little easier for their planning process.
The first post I found on The Knot’s website, 50 (New!) Must-Have Wedding Photos for you Album. The post lists 50 different types of shots that you should talke with your photographer about getting.
For example, #5 is a photo of your shoes and #47 is a photo of a “moment away.”
Another post I found amazing was from the Hill City Bride blog about the Top 5 Photo Sessions for Brides and Grooms, which include:
1) Engagement
2) Bridal
3) The wedding day (of course)
4) Day After Session
5) Trash the Dress Session
Check out the post to see the reasoning behind these must-have photo sessions.
Here are a couple photos from a trash the dress/day after session I did with an amazing bride who just loved to laugh.
Great Friends and fun day…
Saturday, November 6th, 2010A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to go out with some friends who have been together for a long time and experiment with some off camera lighting. I asked if they would model for an engagement type session and they were so excited to help out. (I know they will get engaged and married soon soon soon!
well at least I hope)
